Richmond commissioners approve fire chief promotion, personnel hires, parks equipment and multiple contracts

The board adopted Order 25-135 hiring Joshua Taylor as a Labor I in the recycle department at $15.75 per hour, contingent on preemployment requirements, effective Sept. 19, 2025.
Contracts and purchases: Order 25-137 awarded plumbing ($28,600) and electrical ($40,300) contracts to First Call Construction and HVAC contract ($45,800) to Dunright Services for interior work at the new fire training center, funded from the fire-department capital outlay. Order 25-139 awarded a 60-inch tracked remote-control mower ($75,000) to Brown Equipment Company (Evansville, IN) and a 4WD cab tractor with 12' flex mower ($59,075) to Hobdy, Dye & Reed Inc. for the Richmond Regional Sports Complex; funding was allocated from capital projects sports complex bonding.
Other business: The board adopted Order 25-136, a one-year agreement authorizing use of city football facilities by the Madison County Youth Football League with city rights to cancel if nonprofit status changes; the board also approved Order 25-133 to declare a list of police-department items surplus for sale via GovDeals.com and Order 25-138 appointing Kenny Hill to the Board of Adjustments.
All orders were moved and approved by roll-call votes recorded in the meeting minutes.
