County and municipalities report NYSERDA, DEC grants for energy upgrades, EV chargers and geothermal projects

Philmont reported nearing signature for a NYSERDA $100,000 award toward a geothermal retrofit of Duluth Hall with the aim of a net‑zero retrofit. Taconic members reported securing a DEC culvert‑replacement grant and described an upcoming public program on forest stewardship.
Other updates included local events (energy‑efficiency presentations and town hall outreach) and conversations about which county office or volunteer would track participation in regional resources such as the Hudson Valley Flood Resilience Network. Participants asked staff to compile an updated tally of recent grant awards for the county and towns because several six‑figure awards had recently been received or were under contract.
