The Village of Saint Charles council took several procedural actions Wednesday, including a roll-call vote to pay bills and multiple routine approvals.
Payment of claims: Council approved a motion to pay bills in the amount of $403,336.71. A roll-call vote recorded support from all present council members: Paul Jundarski, Christine Newman, Kathy Harris, Darcy McSwain, Jennifer Rosser Nesbitt and Michael Nesbitt.
Minutes and committee reports: The council accepted minutes from previous meetings (including the July 9 council minutes and Planning Commission minutes dated July 17) by voice vote. The Downtown Development Authority minutes (July 11 and August 1) were also accepted in similar fashion.
Other actions: Council gave conceptual approval for the DDA to proceed with design and bidding on a downtown fountain (the DDA will fund the project and return with firm bids and designs). Council authorized posting for a full-time DPW position to test hiring interest and tabled agenda item number 14 to combine it with evaluation items at a future meeting.
Adjournment: The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn, which carried by voice vote.
