Bartlesville district to host parent panel on student anxiety; district aligns event with enrollment nights

The superintendent, speaking during the board meeting, said panelists would include Judge Backlaw, Dr. Helen Muppets (described as a local pediatrician), teacher Kristen Flick and two students, Jackson Miller and Emma Mackie. "We're gonna have a panel discussion," the superintendent said, adding the goal is to "share some information, get some feedback from the panel, and then we'll answer any questions people have."
Board members discussed possibly adding middle school informational nights for incoming students at Central and Madison and using those events to encourage elementary parents to attend the panel. The superintendent said the district would monitor interest and adjust plans accordingly.
The announcement emphasized outreach and information-sharing rather than a formal policy action. The district encouraged parents to attend and to take advantage of the enrollment-related schedule to learn more about supports for students.
