Board reviews bond projects, old Ag building repurpose and plans move to Infinite Campus

District operations staff and project leads told the Bolivar R‑I Board on Aug. 21 that several bond-funded projects are on track and that the district plans a technology change for student information systems.

Executive director of operations Mike Pitts said the restroom and storage building at Liberator Park is "moving along nicely" and is expected to be done in a few weeks, while the new agriculture building's drywall work is underway with substantial completion targeted for December 2025. He said upgrades to BIS/BES are proceeding and ECLC design work is underway with demolition and dirt work expected soon and a target substantial completion of April 2026.

Pitts said a change order to BrandCo to add work converting the old Ag Building into space for wrestling, strength and conditioning and auto tech is planned to come to the board next month. He noted that bond-proceeds investment earnings of about $500,000 improved the district's position to consider internal renovations, and staff emphasized contingencies remain for unforeseen costs.

On administrative technology, Pitts said the district has been analyzing its current student-information system and determined "Frankly, we're just too big for Lumen," and recommended a migration to Infinite Campus. He described a six-month ramp-up beginning January 2026 and a July 2026 go-live for the 2026'27 school year, with an onboarding process that includes an extended training runway and data conversion.

Board members asked about contingencies and construction sequencing; staff said they feel comfortable bringing a change order next month provided no major unforeseen costs emerge.
