Bastrop ISD bond update: new elementary, middle‑school additions and Bastrop High site work move forward

At the May 13 Bastrop ISD board meeting, the district's director of construction and planning, Lee Rasberry, gave a detailed bond‑program update covering dozens of projects across the district.
Rasberry said Adelton Elementary is scheduled to open in August 2025 with a certificate of occupancy targeted for mid‑July and furniture deliveries shortly thereafter. Mina Elementary has completed first‑phase demolition, building pads and initial concrete pours (including two scheduled overnight pours), and crews are continuing footings and foundation work.
The district is replacing playground surfacing at five elementary campuses (Cedar Creek Elementary, Lost Pines, Emile, Bluebonnet and Red Rock) with pour‑in‑place rubber, adding sidewalks for ADA accessibility and creating inclusive play areas. Rasberry said the work should be complete by mid‑August.
At the secondary level, steel erection and exterior CMU walls are nearing completion for the new additions at local middle schools; Bastrop High School recently received its site permit and site work is expected to start within weeks. Construction partners Bartlett Cocke and American Constructors were named as contractors on various projects; Rasberry noted the SkyBridge connection at Cedar Creek High School is complete and interior work will continue over the summer.
Rasberry also described work on the police and operations building — including domestic water and wastewater lines and fill work to raise slab elevations — and said that portion is on schedule to support a March 2026 move‑in. Trustees asked several scheduling and lifecycle questions; Rasberry provided expected dates and a 10–15 year life estimate for pour‑in‑place rubber playground surfacing.
