The Bound Brook Board of Education voted to approve routine minutes, personnel and education resolutions and closed the meeting after welcoming a new Smalley School principal.
Board President (unnamed) called for motions on consent items. Minutes for June meetings were moved by Miss High and seconded by Mister Dawson and approved by roll call with at least one abstention recorded on item 6.1. The superintendent’s recommended personnel resolutions (items 7.2 through 7.39) were moved by Mister Encalcaterra, seconded by Miss Gazzino, and approved. Education resolutions 8.2 through 8.6 were moved by Mister Dawson, seconded by Mister Encalcaterra, and approved; during that section a board member asked informally whether the district could consider "pet therapy" for board or students and the board agreed to discuss the item at a future meeting.
During board actions (9.2 through 9.21), members noted higher CUSAC scores this year. The superintendent said the district passed CUSAC after submitting a corrective action plan, praising principals and supervisors for the work that produced a passing letter. Those resolutions were moved and approved by roll call.
Before adjournment the superintendent introduced April Morgan as the new Smalley School principal and congratulated a first‑time board member on her first meeting. The board moved to adjourn and the motion passed.
Votes at a glance: - Item 6.1 — Approval of minutes for 06/19/2025 (special/executive) and 06/25/2025 (regular/executive): approved (one abstention recorded on 6.1). - Items 7.2–7.39 — Personnel resolutions: approved by roll call. - Items 8.2–8.6 — Education resolutions: approved by roll call. - Items 9.2–9.21 — Board action resolutions: approved by roll call; members discussed CUSAC passing status.
The board took no additional substantive policy votes at this meeting beyond these routine approvals and adjourned following introduction of the new principal.
