The Blue Valley Board of Education announced at the March 3 meeting that it will enter a two-hour executive session to review candidates for the superintendent position.
Board leaders said the district met with search firms Hazard Young and ATR in February and developed a leadership profile from community and stakeholder meetings. The board voted to enter executive session under the statutory authority read aloud during the motion (recorded as "KSA 70 five-forty three-nineteen B-one") to discuss personal matters of non-elected personnel. The motion passed by voice vote, 7–0, and the board indicated it would reconvene in the Board of Education room at 8:55 p.m. The administration told the board it expects to select a superintendent by the next board meeting.
