BISD gives progress update on 2023 bond projects; Adelton complete, multiple campuses under construction

The Bastrop ISD facilities team presented a slide-driven update on construction and renovation work funded by the 2023 bond, reporting status and percent-complete figures across multiple campuses and district facilities.

Presenter (facilities/operations lead) said Adelton Elementary is 100% complete and in the builder warranty phase. MENA Elementary’s phase 2 was reported roughly 34% complete with CMU and second-floor framing underway. Additions and renovations at Bastrop and Cedar Creek campuses were reported in the mid-single-digit to mid-double-digit percent-complete range; Cedar Creek High School’s wing and skybridge work are on schedule with internal finishes underway and a target opening later in the year.

Athletic track resurfacing projects were described as largely complete at about 80% for the noted fields. Riverside and Creekside middle school renovations were reported 100% complete and in warranty. A large Police Administration and Operations building (55,000 square feet including child nutrition, warehouse and a 10,000-square-foot second-floor teacher/staff development space) is roughly 42% complete and scheduled for completion in March 2026.

Trustees asked for and received confirmation that most projects cited are on schedule and on budget when noted, and the facilities presenter thanked construction and design partners for responsiveness during the school start. No formal board action was required for the update; the board later approved related budget and project-management items in separate agenda actions.
