Greene County proclaims August 2025 Child Support Awareness Month

In the proclamation read aloud, Smith said that "in state fiscal year 20 24 and 20 25, nearly 637,000,000 in child support was collected, providing support for more than 305,000 North Carolina children." The proclamation also recognized judges, district attorneys, clerks of court, sheriff personnel and child-support professionals who help establish and enforce orders.
The board voted by voice to adopt the proclamation. The proclamation directs county recognition of the observance and asks residents to note efforts to support children through the state child-support system.
