Wagner receives hospital telehealth cardiology affiliation; police and EMS report rising calls

During departmental reports on Sept. 2, municipal staff gave several operational updates affecting resident services and public safety.
Hospital representative Miss Moore (speaker 13) told council the hospital is starting an affiliation with Oklahoma State University to provide telehealth cardiology services and that the hospital hopes to offer 24‑hour cardiology coverage within about two months. "We are starting an affiliation with OSU... hoping to be able to offer that 24 hour cardiology in the next 2 months," she said.
Police (speaker 8) presented monthly statistics: "Over the last month, we took a total of 1,414 calls. We took 66 incident reports. We arrested 11 people," the officer reported, also listing larceny, burglary and assault counts and noting efforts on warrant service and recall.
EMS leadership (speaker 11) said call volume has been high, reported four newly certified paramedics in town and described equipment and maintenance challenges with ambulances, including reported air‑conditioning and transmission issues that affect vehicle availability.
What happens next: hospital staff will continue coordination with OSU to stand up telehealth cardiology; police and EMS will continue to update council on operational impacts and equipment status.
