Passaic mayor outlines $328 million high school, riverfront walk, water park and mobility projects

He also said the city is moving forward on a proposed riverfront walk downtown "connecting through Bergen County," and is pursuing funding for a parking deck downtown.
On mobility, the mayor said the administration will expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure and is planning a "state-of-the-art bus terminal" to be located on Passaic Avenue. He also highlighted recent development wins including work on the Dayton Avenue complex and acquisition of storefront property at 711 Main Ave.
The mayor described ongoing homelessness services, including a city program called 'Dignity House' that repurposed a property to provide showers, laundry and weekly resource access for people experiencing homelessness. He also announced a first-ever special needs inclusive junior police and fire academy to run during the summer.
"We will be introducing our riverfront walk downtown connecting through Bergen County," the mayor said, outlining an ambitious mix of capital and community programs that city leaders said will be phased in over the coming months as budgets and state approvals allow.
The mayor noted the recently passed municipal budget was awaiting signature and said the administration hoped to secure complementary state funding for some projects in coordination with local partners.
