City staff updated the Oskaloosa City Council on the YMCA Natatorium completion contract on July 21, saying the contract with Carly Nelson was executed June 26 and project mobilization is imminent.
Staff reported that building permits, insurance and bonds are in place, and that subcontractors for bid packages 1 through 8 have executed contracts. A submittal exchange is established to coordinate product data, delivery dates and shop drawings. Weekly construction meetings began July 17 and will continue in person; those meetings maintain a rolling three'week calendar for progress tracking.
Peterson Construction (bid package 1) is scheduled to mobilize during the week of July 28 and begin on-site work by Friday, Aug. 1; other subcontractors will follow in sequence. Staff described temporary road access, construction fencing and an on-site trailer and foreman as part of initial mobilization preparations.
The presentation reminded council members that the project is governed by the contract with Carly Nelson and that weekly meetings will be used to monitor progress against target dates. No change orders or budget adjustments were proposed at the meeting.
