The Moore City Council approved the budgeted purchase of a new citywide phone system for $3,319,023.58 from Shikeshal Telecom under state contract ITSW1006.
An unidentified staff member explained the current system has reached end-of-life and the manufacturer will no longer support it. Staff said the replacement 'a Cisco product' is intended to restore reliable call routing across departments and to give Public Works staff better ability to answer and route citizen calls. The staff presentation noted the system will be installed by the vendor and that the product aligns with enterprise-class platforms used elsewhere.
Council members asked whether the new system could import historical data from the current records; staff replied historical data can be imported in PDF format, though not natively in every field. A councilmember said the system should meet the city's needs and a motion to approve the purchase passed by roll call.
The purchase was described in the agenda as budgeted; council did not detail financing at the meeting. Vendor installation and ongoing vendor support were presented as part of staff's recommendation.
