Kalispell council approves consent-agenda contract awards, including public-safety remodel

The Kalispell City Council approved a multi-item consent agenda that included several procurement awards and ordinance second readings. Items approved on the consent agenda and during subsequent motions included:

- Award of the Lehi service line replacement project to Utilities 1 Inc. in the amount of $658,318. - Award of the Emerging Contaminant PFAS Water Main Improvements 2025 project: Schedule 1 to Newman Construction for $420,550; Schedules 2 and 3 to Sandry Construction for $1,398,057 and $3,847,954 respectively. - Award of two police interceptor vehicles to Devolve Ford for $134,748. - Award of third-party ambulance billing services to Pintler Billing Services. - Second readings of ordinance items including an amendment to the Silver Brook Village 11.7-acre PUD to allow increased density (198 units) and an ordinance amending municipal code chapter 17 on motor vehicles and traffic related to school short-term parking; initial zoning/zone-change items for Ashley Creek Park were also listed. - Award of the Public Safety Building Remodel Project to Precision Builders for $379,000 (moved and approved separately during the meeting).

Staff presented the items as routine procurement and ordinance matters; there was no public comment on consent items. The council approved the consent agenda by roll-call vote and later approved the public-safety remodeling award by a recorded roll call. The manager reported no work session next Monday, and a councilor closed the meeting with remarks urging civility during the political season: "Please don't feel restricted..." and a plea to "simmer down." The meeting was then adjourned.
