The Chester County School Board voted Sept. 12 to authorize 93 school fundraisers for the 2025–26 school year after district staff described tightened submission and oversight procedures.
District administrator (Speaker 2) told the board that all fundraiser requests were submitted by Aug. 29 using a Google Form and that staff required either attendance at a live training or review of a recorded session covering fiscal responsibilities, receipt handling and collection forms. "I support that we have raised the bar of accountability of our staff," Speaker 2 said, describing the new requirement that each activity receive principal approval and district-level signoff before proceeding.
Speaker 2 also showed a spreadsheet and pie-chart breakdown indicating the high school accounts for the majority of fundraisers, citing larger numbers of sports teams, clubs and homecoming activities as reasons for that concentration. After Speaker 2 requested authorization, the board approved the list by voice vote.
The authorization is administrative: the board granted district staff permission to proceed with the approved activities under the district’s fiscal procedures. The transcript does not record individual vote names or a roll-call tally.
