Charlottesville board approves three‑year collective bargaining agreement with staff

The agreement covers employee rights, workdays and schedules, compensation, stipends and managerial provisions. Dr. Gurley said the contract is intended to support recruitment and retention and foster stronger partnerships between staff and the district.
The motion to approve the agreement was moved and seconded and passed by roll call; speakers thanked bargaining teams and staff for the work. "This whole process has been a very long road, and it's been a privilege," a representative of the bargaining team said as staff and board members posed for a photo.
Next steps: the agreement takes effect July 1, 2025. The board congratulated the bargaining teams and indicated the administration will carry out implementation steps tied to payroll and benefits.
