The Burrillville School Committee opened its May 13 meeting with a recognition ceremony for students selected to Rhode Island Music Education Association (RIMEA) All‑State ensembles. Dr. Solito read citations and invited recipients from elementary, middle and high schools to the podium for individual citations and a group photo.
Dr. Solito thanked students, music teachers and parents for their work preparing for state‑level auditions and noted the committee’s pride in the selections. Chairwoman Lacey joined the applause and said the recognition is among the best parts of serving on the committee. The committee recognized students across choir, orchestra, band and guitar ensembles and encouraged family members to remain for photos.
The ceremony preceded routine business on the agenda and was followed by regular consent items and reports. No formal action was required for the recognitions; the committee presented the citations and took photographs.
