Trousdale County board approves FY26 school budget and accepts Wilson Bank & Trust scoreboard donation

The Trousdale County Board of Education approved an updated fiscal year 2026 general purpose school budget and accepted a donation of two scoreboards from Wilson Bank & Trust during its June meeting.

The board voted by voice to accept the donation after hearing that Wilson Bank & Trust would cover the bulk of the scoreboard cost but could not pay shipping and installation. "It's $1,400 to pay for the shipping and the install, and then they're paying the rest of it, which is around $12,000," said Dr. Sandfield. Chris made the motion to accept the gift with the district responsible for shipping and install; Rachel seconded and the motion carried by voice vote.

Later in the meeting the board considered an updated FY26 general purpose school budget. Mr. Atwood moved to approve the revised budget and Diana seconded; the board approved the updated budget by voice vote. Superintendent Dr. Sandfield reminded attendees that the FY26 budget will go before the county commission on Monday for consideration.
