For Green Country, the accreditation review (Oct. 8–10, 2024) included interviews with stakeholders and on‑site observations; accreditation manager Joey Vanek said examiners found no noncompliance and recommended full accreditation. Roger, representing Green Country, told the board his campus has grown rapidly — citing about a 70% increase in enrollment over three years and capacity challenges that required hiring instructors and adding programs. He said one‑time state funds helped hire two instructors to relieve waiting lists.
The board moved, seconded and approved Green Country’s full accreditation by roll‑call vote.
For Southern Oklahoma Technology Center (Sept. 24–26, 2024), staff likewise reported no areas of noncompliance and recommended full accreditation. Dr. Ward and Southern Tech representatives described program expansions and partnerships with Murray State and OU that create nursing pathways and support rapid re‑skilling for displaced Michelin employees. The board approved Southern Tech’s accreditation on a roll‑call vote.
Why it matters: full accreditation affirms the centers meet the agency’s quality standards across leadership, instruction, support services, measurement and systems impact, and triggers a 90‑day requirement for each center to submit an action plan addressing a single opportunity for improvement noted by examiners.
