Grand Forks board adopts 2025–2030 strategic plan, four priority buckets outlined

On Sept. 8 the Grand Forks Public School District Board voted to adopt the district’s 2025–2030 strategic plan. Superintendent Dr. Brenner presented the final document and described four priority areas: academic excellence; behavioral health and wellness; shared understanding (reciprocal communication); and operational effectiveness.
Dr. Brenner said the plan ties to existing board literacy and math goals and includes implementation guardrails (use only curricular resources aligned to North Dakota state standards and adopted by the board, maintain districtwide evaluation standards, and preserve professional learning communities that analyze student achievement data). He told the board the plan will be styled and condensed for public consumption and uploaded to the district website.
Mister Cleven moved to adopt the strategic plan, and Mister Anderson seconded. The board took a roll-call vote; the motion passed with recorded yes votes and one absence. Dr. Brenner credited multiple steering and writing committees and named facilitator Dr. Jeff Schatz. The board requested a simple, table-side reminder of key strategic-plan components for future meetings.
Adoption of the strategic plan is a policy-level action setting priorities and public expectations for district work through 2030; district staff said they will present implementation details and performance measures in upcoming meetings.
