Lily Hakes, the boards student representative and a senior at Cleveland High School, spoke to the board Aug. 4 about her school involvement and introduced her mother and sister.
Hakes told the board she is an AP Scholar with distinction, a Raider Scholar, and participates in cross country, track, Renaissance/show choir, Student Government Association and Model UN. She said she transferred into the district in ninth grade and expressed appreciation for Cleveland City Schools.
Board members asked no substantive follow-ups and thanked Hakes for her remarks.
