The acting superintendent opened the superintendent's report by recognizing recent district facilities work and the boys lacrosse team's state championship run.
On capital projects, the acting superintendent listed completed and in-progress summer work: paving at multiple sites, new rooftop air-conditioning units installed at the high school, improved cafeteria cooling after the high-school chiller was replaced, epoxy basement flooring at Ridgewood Avenue School, a new playground at Linden Avenue funded partly by a state grant and board/home-and-school funds, temporary cooling units installed at Central Avenue School while the chiller awaits replacement in spring, and the delivery and installation of replacement bleachers at the high school. Board members and staff thanked donors and volunteers for contributions that enabled some of the work.
The acting superintendent also recognized the Glen Ridge boys lacrosse team for its postseason run and Group 1 state championship, recounting key wins and community support. The superintendent invited team members and coaches forward for a group photo and congratulated them on behalf of the district.
The acting superintendent said the district will continue to monitor remaining projects and complete outstanding installations during the school year.
Quote: "We had a donation of $81,000 from the Glenridge Educational Foundation capturing kids' hearts," the president said while thanking partners for support of district programs and facility improvements.
