Council schedules special meeting for 75 Scott Street redevelopment and approves related purchase‑agreement amendment

City staff asked the council to convene a special meeting on Sept. 29 to consider time‑sensitive redevelopment items tied to 75 Scott Street and related parcels. Manager Robinson said the developer has deadlines for funding applications that require council action before the next regular meeting.
Council unanimously scheduled the special meeting and directed staff to hold public hearings that evening on a planned unit development (PUD) amendment and the Woda Cooper Company preliminary site plan for the proposed redevelopment of 75 Scott Street. Councilors also scheduled a public hearing on a proposed payment‑in‑lieu‑of‑taxes (PILOT) ordinance that would form part of the financing package for the redevelopment.
Separately, council approved an amendment to the city’s purchase agreement with Monroe County for the 60 Wadsworth Street parking lot that adds a first right of refusal to the county should the city’s planned deal not proceed; legal counsel reviewed and the mayor and clerk treasurer were authorized to execute the amended agreement.
Staff said the special meeting scheduling is driven by the developer’s funding timeline and that related approvals will come back to council after public comment and hearing.
