Council awards demolition contract for foreclosed Winchester property

Councilwoman Jermaine moved to award the demolition contract to David C. Hoffman & Sons Inc. for $19,730 with a 15% contingency of $2,959.50 for a total not to exceed $22,689.50, and to authorize the building official to execute the agreements and invoice the county for the county’s share. The motion passed on the roll call vote with council members recorded as voting in the affirmative.
Attorney Buds noted on the record that ownership is currently with the county following tax foreclosure and that outreach to the former owner has been attempted.
