At its Sept. 17 meeting the Middleton City Council approved several routine and community-focused items. The consent agenda — minutes from Sept. 3, payroll ratification (Sept. 5) and accounts payable through Sept. 12 — was approved by motion and voice vote.
Council authorized the mayor to approve a special community-event application for Middleton Middle School’s cross country meet on Sept. 18 and waived associated fees. Parks and Recreation staff then described the second annual Community Trunk-or-Treat scheduled for Oct. 30 (6–8 p.m., with a movie at 8:30 p.m.) and requested waivers for event-related fees for vendors; the council voted to authorize the mayor to approve the Greater Middleton Parks and Recreation application and waive fees.
The council also approved the reappointment of current members of the Middleton Youth Council to serve through 30 days prior to the 2026–27 school year. Representatives from Parks and Recreation and council members noted youth engagement opportunities and fundraising ideas (parking fees, car washes) to support future events such as fireworks.
On a separate administrative item, staff presented Resolution 530-25 authorizing the sale of certain police department property (tasers) to the Wilder Police Department. After brief discussion, council approved the resolution by motion and voice vote.
All motions described here passed by the voice votes recorded in the meeting; individual roll-call tallies were not recorded in the transcript for these items.
