"When I'm driving past tonight and there's smoke coming from this building, I feel a little irate about that because, to me, it's an environmental emergency," Del Esme said during public comment.
Del Esme said the EPA has not provided a clear timeline for remediation and he urged greater transparency about how contamination has affected the community. City officials did not provide an EPA or county response at the meeting. The matter is a county and federal cleanup issue, but the commenter asked the council to help push for clearer timelines and communication.
