Board approves MOU with JM Arts to expand arts programming at Jordan Matthews

The Chatham County Board of Education voted Aug. 11 to approve a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with JM Arts, Jordan Matthews High School’s art foundation, to expand arts programming and community engagement for the 2025–26 school year.
Chris Poston presented the MOU, which the administration described as expanding access to ‘‘high-quality arts programs and opportunities’’ at Jordan Matthews and across the district, with a focus on culturally responsive programming. The board moved, seconded and approved the MOU by voice vote.
School and district staff said the partnership will rely on volunteer participation and community collaboration; Miss Pate (JM Arts lead at the school) was cited as a local program leader. No contract dollar value was specified in the board discussion.
