Administration said the RFP is open through March 24 and defines a maximum timeline of 116 days from notice to proceed to project completion, while allowing firms to propose shorter timelines or alternate systems if they meet the design intent. The RFP packet is to include schedule, cost, and technical proposals; administration said they have received positive initial interest from contractors.
Presenters explained that the project budget figure includes site preparation, slab, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and equipment to make the building turnkey (permits, legal, architecture/engineering) and said the procurement approach used has been successful for smaller-cap projects in other divisions. Board members asked clarifying questions about receipt of proposals and the ability to accept earlier submissions.
