Southampton schools adopt divisionwide learning enrichment plan to expand tutoring and attendance recovery

Doctor Blunt summarized program components and staffing commitments and presented cost estimates — before-school $66,400; after-school $303,600; virtual instruction $96,300; Saturday academy $228,587.50 — and a combined proposal figure of $494,887.50. Blunt also said the division's current All In grant balance is $181,493.28.
Principals from several schools described how students will be identified for tiers 1–3 (using attendance, SOLs, benchmark and growth assessments) and how the division will use certified teachers for in-person attendance-recovery work. Board members asked questions about the potential impact on electives and whether students would be pulled from required courses; administrators said the plan emphasizes using existing activity periods and modified bell schedules where possible rather than removing required coursework.
