Speaker 10 moved to accept the retirement and to authorize the board president to execute the superintendent—s employment contract on behalf of the board; the motion received a second and was approved by voice vote.
During public remarks after the vote trustees thanked Edwards for his leadership, vision and service to the district. The board president said the district will announce the timetable and next steps for the transition in the future.
