Lyon County School District orders 500 recognition challenge coins

The Lyon County School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously June 4 to purchase 500 one-and-a-half-inch challenge coins to recognize staff and students who go "above and beyond," and directed Superintendent Logan to finalize the design and vendor. The motion specified a 1.5-inch coin and a 500-count initial order, with Logan to work with trustees on color and art prior to finalizing a vendor. The board did not identify a formal budget transfer; trustees characterized the purchase as a low-dollar item that can be handled administratively.
