East Penn school leaders outline student surveys, fall athletics and three new administrators

Dr. Campbell described upcoming student surveys: East Penn will administer the Panorama social and emotional learning (SEL) survey for grades 3–12 from Sept. 29 to Oct. 10, and an equity and inclusion survey for grades 6–12 during the same window; parents and guardians may view the questions and opt their children out. He also said the district will administer the Pennsylvania youth survey (PAES) for grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 during Sept. 15–20, noting the PAES is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and state education and drug-and-alcohol agencies.
Dr. Campbell introduced three newly hired administrators: Karen Fairclough, named supervisor of special education (middle level) and returning to East Penn; Wendy Myers, assistant principal at Emmaus High School; and Sarah Raber, supervisor of humanities in the Office of Teaching and Learning, each described with relevant experience.
He also reminded the public the fall 2025 supplemental feeding program (sponsored with the Rotary) is posted on the district website and continues on Wednesdays at Lower Macungie Middle School and at the Administration Building next to the high school, and listed open part‑time positions for instructional assistants, staff assistants, food service and crossing guards.
Board members asked follow-up questions about bus safety (referencing the earlier public comment) and public access to survey results; Dr. Campbell said Panorama results are typically presented publicly as part of assessment updates and reiterated opt-out procedures for parents.
