Board amends local-emergency resolution to include Euchre Creek Road

The Curry County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on Sept. 23 to amend Resolution 25-01, the county’s local emergency declaration for widespread flooding, to formally include Euchre Creek Road among the affected roads.
The presiding commissioner said the road was inadvertently omitted from the original list and that adding it to the order would qualify the county for some repair funding. Director Fitzgerald noted the county may have missed a federal funding window but said he is contacting the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the county’s lobbyist to explore funding alternatives and partnership opportunities with ODOT.
Board discussion touched on unclear historic property boundaries related to old Highway 101 and recent surveying work by the county surveyor in coordination with ODOT’s surveyor, Logan Miles. Commissioners approved the order by voice vote.
