The Central Falls School Building Committee voted to add two replacements to its membership and approved routine project payments at its meeting.
Chair introduced nominations after Principal Bob McCarthy’s resignation and the forthcoming departure of Carrie Simmons. The committee moved to add Mr. DeMorellis and Ms. Rivas as replacements; the motion was seconded and approved by a voice vote with no members recorded as opposed. The chair welcomed Katie and thanked the new members for stepping in.
Hannah Rivers, introduced as interim chief financial officer, said she previously managed grants, payroll and systems work and described plans to improve financial collaboration across the district. Prunil Mademarayas introduced themself as principal at Central Falls High School and noted decades of experience in education.
There were no public commenters present. The committee approved outstanding invoices for Central Falls High School (requisition referenced in the packet) by voice vote and later approved the School Building Committee’s revolving-fund reimbursement submission. Both motions passed with no recorded oppositions.
