Council was asked to pre‑authorize contracting to allow work to start promptly once the bid period closes. Staff said the total construction contract is not to exceed $3,000,000 and Sparks' share would be $941,100.
The staff presentation noted the bid period was closing that week and that some critical equipment was expected to arrive in November–December; the council approved the reimbursement and related contracting authorization unanimously.
The city did not identify the awardee at the meeting; staff said Reno's council had already approved the same item at its Aug. 27 meeting. No amendments or additional financial contingencies were recorded during the council action.
