Cheshire County Commissioners voted March 12 to accept an amendment to the Department of Health and Human Services Opiate Abatement Program grant. The amendment extends the grant term through June 30, 2027, and adds $188,375 to support recovery coaching, care mentoring and recovery support services for county drug court participants.
Jennifer, who introduced the agenda item, described the amendment as one of three grants that support treatment programs in the county. Following a motion from the floor — “Move to accept the grant” — the board seconded the motion and recorded unanimous affirmative votes from Commissioners Clark, Stewart and DeBernardo.
A county representative said the document will be signed and returned; staff will complete the execution steps and file the agreement with the county's grants office.
