Bay County commissioners approve bond-notice for pool project and several routine purchases

The Bay County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 9 approved a slate of routine motions, including a resolution to publish a notice of intent to issue bonds for the Bay County Pool Project and several contracts and purchases.

Among the items the board approved were: a resolution authorizing publication of notice of intent to issue bonds for the Bay County Pool Project; a change to the Bay County Sheriff’s fee schedule to add life-scan electronic fingerprints; authorization to purchase a jail transport van for the sheriff’s office; a revised materials-management planning grant resolution for Environmental Affairs/Community Development (authorized to apply for and accept grant funds); a purchase and trade-in authorization for golf carts at the county golf course; and several finance- and operations-related items, including approval of payables and an Information Systems service contract for a Veritiv cooling unit with Access Michigan. The health officer’s office also received authorization to contract with McLaren Bay Region to purchase rabies vaccine and immunoglobulin and to enter agreements with print and broadcast vendors for clinical promotion.

Most motions were moved, supported and carried by voice vote; the minutes and several reports were received. Commissioners cited ongoing work on collective bargaining agreements and local capital projects during the meeting’s routine-business segment. Announcements at the end of the meeting included a POW/MIA ceremony scheduled for Sept. 19 at the Helicopter Monument and a free vaccine/microchip clinic Oct. 11 at the animal shelter.

The board adjourned after completing the agenda.
