Board approves two contract awards as bond program advances; $195M-plus budget and summer projects outlined

The presenter (identified in discussion as David) described the bond program budget and allocations, noting the top-line budget shown on slides was about $195 million and that earned interest has increased available funding to about $198 million. He said commitments and approved contract amounts have increased since the September report: commitments rose by roughly $13.2 million while approved actuals increased by roughly $13 million.
Staff highlighted upcoming summertime projects for 2025 including chillers (Midvale), roofing, parking-lot resurfacing, site work and targeted maintenance that staff said will minimize disruption to students.
The board reviewed two formal resolutions: - Resolution 37: award for move management at Bingham Farms/Horton. Staff reported five bids and recommended the lowest responsible bidder for base services at $57,420 plus a $20,000 contingency for a total award of $77,004.20. The board approved the award by voice vote, 6-0. - Resolution 38: award for paving improvements at Pembroke Elementary. Staff reported five bids for parking, asphalt/concrete work and the play pad; the recommended lowest responsible bidder was listed as Asphalt Specialist for $835,392.75. The board approved the award by voice vote, 6-0.
Board members thanked the construction team and noted completed work and photos shown from recent projects such as a new pool area, updated flooring and stormwater detention work that restored parking capacity. The presenters said contingency funds and owner reserves remain available for upcoming projects.
