The Beech Grove City Schools board approved a set of personnel recommendations and several routine items during its March 11 meeting and delayed a decision on voiding stale-dated checks pending follow-up.
At the start of the business portion, administration presented personnel recommendations covering the period Feb. 7 through March 6, 2025, and discussed recruitment challenges for math teachers and JROTC staffing. The board moved and seconded the motion to approve the personnel recommendations; the chair called the question and members responded in the affirmative.
Trustees then considered routine fiscal and operational actions. They approved an updated agreement related to the Area Career Technical Center (C9 career center) by voice vote. The board also approved minutes for the Feb. 11 meeting, authorized listed fundraisers and approved an overnight field trip.
On the matter of voiding stale-dated checks, trustees and the auditor discussed checks dated 2022–2024 and whether the items should be voided or reissued and how to handle wires and Indiana unclaimed property procedures. Board members agreed there was no urgency and asked staff to obtain clarification from the auditor; action on voiding those checks was deferred to the next meeting.
The board closed with brief committee reports and success stories and adjourned at 7:19 p.m.
