Board adopts preliminary determination for up to $11.12 million in deferred-maintenance projects; routine items approved

At its Aug. 12 meeting, the Beech Grove City Schools board held the second required public hearing under Indiana law on proposed post-construction projects and adopted a preliminary determination resolution authorizing maximum financing terms.

Doctor Hammock (district leadership) explained that Indiana law requires two public hearings and that the resolutions establish maximum financial terms. Administration presented estimated project costs of $9,835,000 in hard and soft costs plus an estimated cost of issuance of $1,285,000, yielding a total estimated project cost of $11,120,000. The administration said the gross impact on the debt-service fund tax rate would be about 0.4366¢ per $100 of assessed valuation, based on an estimated assessed valuation of $687,142,964, and that under current assumptions the anticipated net increase to the debt-service fund tax rate is 0¢ above the current rate.

Clerk Miss Alford announced there were no registered public speakers at the hearing. Following the presentation, a motion to adopt the preliminary-determination resolution was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
