Updates included work on South Boulevard athletic facilities (on track for the fire marshal walkthrough), a bus-exit redesign at the senior high to improve traffic flow, parking expansions supported by state capital outlay, and a new elementary wing at South Woodward Elementary. Staff described a planned combination fencing and ditch/redirection project at Maryville to address severe water intrusion around the high school building and a cemetery adjacent to the property.
Regarding the Maryville gym, staff said insurance approved $20,000 after a $100,000 deductible to cover board repairs; a vendor is repairing the control board and staff expect delivery next week. Staff cautioned that if the repair fails, replacement or boiler-related repairs could be substantially more expensive (vendor quotes referenced a potential new boiler around $100,000).
Committee members asked for monthly work-order reporting by school to track response times and closure; staff agreed to provide PDFs of individual tickets by school. No separate board vote was required for the status updates.
