The Blount County School Board discussed a requested $687,632.58 increase from Fund 177 for Phase 1 of the Heritage High auditorium renovation but voted to table the request while staff seeks clarification from the Tennessee State Comptroller—s Office on whether those funds may be used for the capital renovation.
The chair told the board the county commission and CFOs had asked for the comptroller—s guidance before the county commission could approve a transfer from Fund 177. The chair moved to amend by tabling the item pending the state—s response; the board agreed by voice vote.
Board members later reiterated the district—s intent to pursue the renovation and noted additional capital work (track replacements) being planned from Fund 141. The board said they expect to return the item to a future agenda after the comptroller—s office responds.
