Superintendent reports middle school construction on schedule, outlines upcoming dates

He said the project managers noted that recent weather has allowed work to continue, and that the district expects to complete primary construction activities around January–February, followed by a series of required inspections (architect and state) that must be passed before final payment and handing over the building. He told the board he will circulate aerial photos showing current progress.
Ratley said the district cannot move state-owned technology while students are using it and that technology transitions will occur after school is out; for that reason the most feasible occupancy target is August. He reminded board members of several dates: small graduation on Aug. 5 at 10 a.m., convocation on Aug. 19 (at AMS gymnasium), and the next board meeting on Aug. 25, which is also the first day of school.
Board discussion emphasized the inspection sequence and the need to meet state standards before final payment and occupancy. No formal action altering the construction schedule was taken at the meeting.
