The AMHERST CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT Board of Education opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and administered oaths to newly and reelected members Nicholas DeMarco, Lori Goldhawk and Olivia Nidalgo.
"I, Nicholas DeMarco, do solemnly swear that..." said Nicholas DeMarco as he recited the oath of office after the roll call of new members.
The meeting moved immediately into officer elections. An unnamed board member nominated Jessica McLaughlin for board president. After a motion and second, the chair announced, "Motion carries 7 0," electing McLaughlin as president.
The board then nominated Mary Jane Matson for vice president, moved and seconded the motion to elect her, and the chair again announced the motion carried 7-0. The chair requested that both newly elected officers take and sign their oaths of office, which they did.
The reorganization portion concluded and the meeting proceeded to the board's regular business.
The votes recorded in the transcript were announced by the meeting chair as unanimous among voting members present. The transcript records the vote tallies as "Motion carries 7 0" for the president and vice president elections.
