Board awards Alvin High School renovation contract to Stewart Builders

A presenter explained the CMAR procurement process and said two general contractors were shortlisted and evaluated based on qualifications and proposed fees. "I move that the board consider and approve a contract award to Stewart Builders and authorize the superintendent to review and execute the final negotiated contract," a trustee moved. The motion was seconded and passed 7–0.
Staff said approval authorizes selection of the construction manager at risk and that future board action will be required to approve guaranteed maximum prices for each phase of the work.
