Votes at a glance: board approves consent items, personnel, teaching units and other routine matters 7–0

At the meeting the board considered and voted on multiple routine and personnel items. The board approved the consent agenda (items A–J) covering minutes, a budget amendment, RFP awards, general operating expenses, procurement items, the student code of conduct for 2025–26, identified hazardous routes, and a JJAEP Memorandum of Understanding. Trustee Scott moved the consent agenda; Trustee Johnson seconded. The motion carried 7–0.

Subsequent items voted unanimously included:

- Adoption of the 2025–26 Alvin ISD tax rate: motion carried 7–0 (mover Trustee Johnson, seconder Trustee Garza). The adopted components were M&O 0.7552 and I&S 0.3948 for a total tax rate of $1.15 per $100 valuation.

- Approval of five additional teaching units for the 2025–26 school year to address enrollment growth and specialized program needs: Trustee Sweeney moved; Trustee Roberson seconded. Motion carried 7–0.

- Approval of requested personnel items to fill vacancies: Trustee Garza moved; Trustee Humbert seconded. Motion carried 7–0.

- Approval of Dr. Christy Miller as assistant principal at Pomona Elementary: Trustee Humbert moved; Trustee Sweeney seconded. Motion carried 7–0. Board welcomed Dr. Miller and invited family for recognition and photos.

- Adjournment: motion carried 7–0.

Meeting minutes and related backup documents (budget addendum, RFPs, code of conduct, JJAEP MOU) were available at trustees’ places and will be part of the official record. The board did not record any dissenting votes on the listed agenda items.
