Angela Martinez spoke during the public‑comment period at the Agua Fria Union High School District board meeting on May 7 and described a workplace complaint she said she reported to the district.
"I was never given any reviews," Martinez said, describing that she received a contract and later was discharged. She said she first experienced problems last June when a dispatcher followed her to her car and verbally attacked her; she said she reported that incident to the director and HR but did not see any investigation or resolution. Martinez also said the harassment continued and involved other staff and family members of the employee she identified.
Martinez told the board she had submitted a packet outlining policies and procedures and asked why, if there were performance concerns, she had been given a current contract. She requested that surveillance cameras and other evidence be reviewed to show "the discrimination that's going on, to show the harassment that's going on."
Board chair cut public comment at the three‑minute mark in accordance with the meeting rules and thanked Martinez for coming. The board did not vote or take an immediate public action on the allegations during the open meeting; the complaint and any personnel matters are subject to the district's human resources processes and, where appropriate, confidentiality rules or personnel‑related executive‑session procedures.
What happens next: Martinez said she had provided documents to the board. The district's HR and legal processes (if invoked) would determine whether an investigation or further action is taken; the board agenda later moved to executive session on a separate item.
