Board unanimously approves appointment of Lucy Herring Elementary principal

Following a closed session to discuss personnel matters, the board returned to open session to consider a single personnel item: filling the principal position at Lucy Herring Elementary School. A motion to approve the personnel report for that position was moved and seconded; board members recorded votes including a yes from Rebecca Strymer, Hamid and Jesse and the motion passed unanimously.
The chair announced the approval and the board expressed excitement for the Lucy Herring community and for the incoming principal. The remainder of the personnel report will be handled at a future meeting.
