Randolph County Schools board approves 2025-26 policies, multiple procurement bids and personnel actions

The Randolph County Schools Board of Education on July 17 approved a set of routine policy updates, awarded multiple procurement contracts and accepted a personnel action sheet during a regularly scheduled meeting.
Superintendent (S4) asked the board to approve the previously tabled 2025–26 Internet safety and use of technology policy, the proposed wireless communication device policy and the Wellness Policy for the 2025–26 school year; motions to adopt each recommendation were made, seconded and approved by voice votes. “On number 6, 7, and 8, I didn’t reprint those policies that we put on the table last week for everybody to wait on,” the superintendent said, summarizing the recommendations before the board voted.
The board also approved several procurement items recommended by the superintendent. The board accepted a $338,906.06 bid from Adams Construction and Associates Inc. to build a multi-use storage building at the Fort Worth site, which the superintendent described as space to store books and related equipment. Members approved the purchase of a Kia Sportage from Buster Miles Kia for $27,136 to refresh the fleet used for the district’s driver education program.
Food-service contracts for the 2025–26 school year were awarded as recommended: shelf-stable milk and a milk bid to Forestwood Farms, bread to Flowers Bakery, and produce to Quality Produce. The superintendent indicated bid packets and pricing were available in the meeting materials and members clarified pricing details before voting.
The board approved the personnel action sheet after a motion and second; the presiding officer noted that “Mister Hall abstained from number 4” on the personnel sheet, and the remainder of the personnel items carried.
The meeting opened with an invocation from Margie Murphy and the Pledge of Allegiance and concluded with a motion to adjourn.
